This particular variety of parsley known as "Champion Moss Curled" has small, tightly curled, very dark green leaves. As long as it is watered, nourished, and pruned, this adaptable herb, which grows to a height of around 30cm (12in), is a great choice for pots. It even enjoys living on the kitchen windowsill. The most well-known of all the herbs used as garnish is curled parsley. Originally from the Mediterranean area in central and southern Europe, it is now widely planted all over the world.
Growing instructions:
Sow the parsley champion moss curled seeds from February to July. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). In order to have fresh leaves all year long, seeds can also be planted inside or under glass from August to February. 7.5cm (3") pots of free-draining seed compost should be used for sowing, and the temperature should be kept between 18 and 21 C (65 and 70 F) until germination. Thin seedlings to a distance of 23 cm (9 inches) once they are big enough to handle. Plant parsley outside when the risk of frost has gone after acclimating plants to outdoor circumstances gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from July to October.
