The Thyme English Winter, often referred to as Common or Garden Thyme, has small, scented, dark-green leaves and clusters of tiny, light pink flowers. It grows easily from seed and has a height and spread of 30 cm, making it a fantastic addition to stuffings, poultry recipes, and stews. The flavour is at its peak in June and July, and it's great whether frozen, dried, or infused in oil.
Growing instructions:
Sow the thyme seeds from March to May. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 5-10 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 10-20cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest within six to eight weeks from sowing.
