Hardy annual kale cultivar Scarlet develops dark green leaves with vivid purple veins. Most of the time, their rich colouring emerges following the winter. For a baby salad, these plants may be harvested when the leaves are smaller, or they can be kept in the ground throughout winter.

Growing instructions:
Sow the Scarlet Kale Winter Hardy seeds from April to September. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from September through to April.
