For people who cultivate in raised beds and containers or have limited space, Cucumber Bush is a true winner. Cucumber Bush uses around a third of the typical space needed by a standard cucumber plant to provide an abundance of 20cm cucumbers. It harvests early and for a considerable amount of time. It has a crisp outer peel and a sweet, juicy inside. It is best to plant this outdoor cucumber away from other cucumber varieties to prevent cross-pollination.
Growing Instructions:
Sow the Salad Cucumber Bush seeds from April to May. Sow seeds indoors in an area which is approximately 25 degrees. Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart outdoors so that they have space to grow larger. In order to produce a consistent plant, water frequently and generously and pluck the fruits as needed. Always use room temperature tap water when watering to prevent bacterial infections. Harvest from July to October once the Cucumber is approximately 20cm long.
