One of the largest-heading, fastest-growing, and most seeded varieties on the market for gardeners is Titan Sunflower. Perfect for winning competitions and impressing your neighbours. The plants, which can grow up to 12 feet tall and have huge golden flower heads that measure 18 to 24 inches wide, will require support. The huge seeds are great for eating or scattering for wintering birds.
Growing instructions:
Giant Titan Sunflower seeds can be planted straight in the ground from March through to May. (May also be planted internally). Plant each seed 12 mm deep in the ground and spread each seed you plant by approximately 10 cm. Remember to water seeds as they grow. Support the stem as the sunflower grows in order to ensure a giant sunflower. (If seeds are planted indoors, pick the strongest stems to grow outside). Giant Titan Sunflower flower from July through to October.
