100x Giant Italian Purple Top Turnip Milan Seeds
Giant Turnip Purple Top Milan is a superb, traditional turnip variety that was first introduced before 1888 and is still quite popular today. Smooth white bulbs with a brilliant purple top that are highly ornamental give way to pure white flesh that is finely grained, firm, and rigid. Turnip Purple Top Milan can be harvested at several stages of development, up to tennis ball size, or at the baby-vegetable stage, around the size of a radish or a golf ball. Turnip Purple Top Milan can be sliced into smaller pieces or grilled with little olive oil, salt, and herbs for a flavourful and unique side dish.
Growing Instructions:
Sow the Giant Italian Purple Top Turnip Milan seeds from February to June. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from May to November.
