300x Cape Gooseberry Physalis Peruviana Seeds
Small, spherical, pale orange berries with a sweet, acidic flavour are produced by the Cape Gooseberry (Physalis). The berry is covered in a papery shell that beautifully envelops the fruit. It is sometimes referred to as "ground berry." The fruit itself may be used as a garnish in a variety of ways, including cooked dishes, jams, and desserts. It can also be used raw in fruit salads. This small variety performs best when grown in soil or pots in a greenhouse. It may be planted outside in a highly protected sunny location, but it needs good high temperature to bear fruit.
Growing Instructions:
Sow the Cape Gooseberry Physalis Peruviana seeds from February to April. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from July through to September.
