Blue Fescue Ornamental Grass – 350x Seeds - Festuca glauca - Perennial Flower
Blue fescue (Festuca glauca), a compact, clump-forming ornamental grass valued for its beautiful, frosty blue leaf, will add spectacular texture and cool-toned colour to your garden. This hardy perennial provides year-round visual interest with little care, making it perfect for borders, rock gardens, walks, and containers. The Blue Fescue grows to a height of 8 to 12 inches and has delicate tan flower spikes in early summer. It also forms tidy mounds that remain tidy throughout the season. It is a great option for contemporary landscapes and water-wise gardening because it is drought-tolerant and low-maintenance once established. It grows best in full sun and well-drained soil.
Growing instructions:
Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca) can be grown indoors from February to April or outdoors from late April to June after the risk of frost has passed. Because seeds require light to grow, sow on the top of moist, well-draining compost and gently press in; do not cover. Germination should take place in 14–21 days at a constant temperature of about 15–20°C. When seedlings are big enough to manage, move them into separate pots or straight to their final locations on soil that drains well and receives plenty of sunlight. Plants should be spaced 20–30 cm apart. Once established, blue fescue is a drought-tolerant perennial that grows in compact, blue-grey clumps. It’s ideal for borders, rockeries, and container planting, offering year-round structure and colour with minimal care.
