80x Cardoon Cynara Cardunculus Seeds
Cardoon Cynara Cardunculus is renowned for its thick, fleshy, white to light green leaf veins and thick, light green, finely incised leaves. This species is smaller than the Bianco Gigante di Romagna cardoon and is related to the artichoke. Originating in the Mediterranean area is the cardoon. Here, it's eaten a lot, much like artichokes. Cardoons are extremely resilient to heat and drought. It's a perennial plant that can tolerate some cold.
Growing Instructions:
Sow the Cardoon Cynara Cardunculus seeds from February to March. Thinly sow seeds into trays (2cm deep). Germination usually takes 10-14 days and once the seedlings have germinated and have grown 10-15cm tall, transplant the seeds or spread the plants 30-50cm apart. Water plants thoroughly after planting especially during warm summer days. Harvest from June through to August.
