70x Mina Lobata Spanish Flag Seeds – Fast Growing Climber with Fiery Blooms
Mina Lobata, known as Firecracker Vine or Spanish Flag, is a magnificent climber that grows quickly and is valued for its vivid, flame-like blossoms. The blossoms, which resemble flickering flames against lovely green foliage, fall in colours of red, orange, and yellow. Ideal for obelisks, arches, fences or trellises, this exotic annual produces a striking vertical display all summer long and into early autumn. It instantly transforms gardens, patios, and balconies, reaching heights of up to three meters in a single season. Mina Lobata is a simple plant that grows best in full light and well-drained soil. In the spring, sow indoors, then after the final frost, plant outdoors. Admired for its tropical flair and adored by pollinators, this gorgeous climber brings height, colour, and movement to any outdoor area.
Growing Instructions:
Mina Lobata (Spanish Flag) is grown by sowing seeds indoors in pots or trays with moist, well-draining compost from February to April. Maintain a constant temperature of 18–21°C and lightly cover with compost. Typically, germination takes 10–21 days. After the seedlings have real leaves, move them into separate pots and keep them in a warm, sunny environment. After the final frost, which is usually in late May, harden off gradually before planting outdoors. Given that this climber grows quickly and can reach a height of 2-3 meters, pick a sunny, protected area with well-drained soil and offer support like a fence or trellis. Throughout the growing season, water frequently and fertilise once a month. The flaming red, orange, and yellow blossoms of Mina Lobata, which bloom from July to October, draw butterflies and bees.
