Growing Instructions:

In order to successfully cultivate Powder Puff China Aster (Callistephus Chinensis), seeds must be sown indoors between February and April in seed trays that are filled with light, well-draining seed compost. Because seeds need light to germinate, plant them on the surface and gently press, keeping the compost damp but not soggy. Keep the temperature between 18 and 20°C; germination normally happens in 10 to 14 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots after they have two to three genuine leaves, and once the risk of frost has passed, let them harden off outside in May. Plant 20–25 cm apart in full sun to partial shade in rich, well-drained soil. To promote consistent, vivid blooms throughout the summer, water frequently, use a balanced fertiliser every two weeks, and deadhead spent flowers.
