50x Hibiscus Trionum Flower Of An Hour Seeds – Low Maintenance - Perennial Flower
Hibiscus Trionum, commonly known as Flower-of-an-Hour, is a striking, low-maintenance perennial prized for its delicate, cup-shaped blooms that open in the morning and close by afternoon. Each flower displays a soft, creamy yellow centre with contrasting darker markings, creating a captivating, eye-catching effect in borders, beds, and containers. This hardy plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating drought and poor conditions, making it ideal for low-maintenance or wildlife-friendly gardens. Flower-of-an-Hour attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies, supporting garden biodiversity while adding natural beauty. Easy to grow from seed, it requires minimal care once established, producing elegant blooms throughout the growing season and providing a graceful, airy presence in any outdoor space.
Growing Instructions:
Hibiscus Trionum (Flower-of-an-Hour) can be successfully grown by sowing seeds indoors in a bright, well-draining seed compost between February and April. Because seeds require light to sprout, spread them out on the surface and gently press to keep the compost damp but not soggy. At 18–20°C, germination typically takes place in 10–14 days. After the last frost, which usually occurs in mid-May, seedlings should be moved into individual pots and allowed to gradually harden off before being planted outdoors. This drought-tolerant perennial prefers low-maintenance environments, so pick a sunny, well-drained location with rich or poor soil. Plants should be spaced 25–30 cm apart, water sparingly during dry spells, and have delicate, cup-shaped blooms that draw pollinators all summer long.
