500x Rock Cress Cascade Red Aubrieta Cultorum Seeds – Ground Cover - Perennial
The colourful, low-growing perennial rock cress "Cascade Red" (Aubrieta cultorum) is ideal for bringing early spring colour to ground cover areas, walls, borders, and rock gardens. This resilient plant, which produces masses of vivid red blooms, creates a dense, spreading mat of evergreen foliage that stops soil erosion on slopes and helps reduce weeds. It grows well in difficult places like rocky areas or along pathways, and it is best suited for sunny areas with well-drained soil. It is a great option for low-care landscapes since, once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires little upkeep. Plant seeds outside in early spring or autumn, or indoors 6-8 weeks before to the last frost. The gorgeous floral display that returns year after year with brilliant intensity is produced by blooming, which starts in mid to late spring.
Growing Instructions:
Rock Cress "Cascade Red" (Aubrieta cultorum) seeds can be sown immediately outdoors in early spring or autumn, or they can be sown indoors 6–8 weeks prior to the last anticipated frost. Light promotes germination, so use soil that drains well and gently press seeds onto the surface without completely covering them. Germination takes 14–21 days, so keep the soil continuously moist but not soggy. Select a sunny spot with fairly fertile soil; once grown, aubrieta can withstand drought and enjoys slightly alkaline conditions. It creates a thick, mat-like ground cover that is perfect for nooks and crannies in walls, slopes, and rockeries. A shower of vivid red blossoms is produced when flowering starts in the middle to late spring.
