500x Red Gem Signet Marigold – Tagetes Tenuifolia – Annual Flower
The compact, bushy annual Red Gem Signet Marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia) has clusters of tiny, delicate, reddish-orange blossoms with golden centres. These cheery blooms add a beautiful texture and smell to garden beds, borders, and containers when contrasted with finely split, citrus-scented leaves. Red Gem, which blooms consistently from early summer to autumn, is a choice for companion planting and walkway edging since it naturally wards off pests like whiteflies and aphids. It grows well in full sun and well-drained soil and is low care and easy to maintain.
Growing Instructions:
To Cultivate Red Gem Signet Marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia), seeds should be sown indoors in seed trays filled with wet, well-draining compost between March and April. Apply a thin coating of vermiculite or compost, and maintain between 18 and 21°C. It takes 7–14 days for germination. After the final frost, usually in late May, move seedlings into individual pots to harden off before planting them outdoors once they are big enough to manage. In May, after the soil has warmed up, you can also plant straight outside. Select a sunny spot with soil that drains properly. From June through October, masses of tiny, reddish-orange blossoms will be produced.
