500x Blue Woodruff Asperula Orientalis Seeds – Sweetly Scented Blue Flowers
The lovely, low-growing annual blue woodruff (Asperula orientalis) is prized for its clusters of delicate, star-shaped blue blooms and its delightful, vanilla-like fragrance. This easy-to-grow plant gives subtle colour and scent to any garden area and is perfect for borders, rock gardens, containers, or ground cover. Throughout the flowering season, bees and other pollinators are drawn to the delicately textured green foliage, which contrasts well with the airy blue blossoms. Blue Woodruff thrives in full sun to partial shade and requires moderate watering and well-drained soil. It is ideal for sensory or cottage-style gardens due to its small size and mild scent.
Growing instructions:
Sow seeds indoors from February to April or outdoors right after the last frost in late April to early May if you want to grow Blue Woodruff (Asperula orientalis) successfully. Lightly press seeds onto the top of moist, well-draining compost; do not cover, as seeds require light to sprout. Keep the temperature between 16 and 20°C; germination usually takes 14 to 21 days. When seedlings are big enough to manage, move them outside into a well-drained area that is either sunny or somewhat shaded. From late spring to early summer (May to July), Blue Woodruff will start to bloom, bringing with it clusters of tiny, star-shaped blue blossoms that smell sweetly of vanilla. Blooming can be prolonged by deadheading. Perfect for cottage gardens, borders, and containers. Avoid waterlogging and water sparingly.
