400x Oriental Foxglove Rehmannia Angulata Seeds - Rare Perennial Hardy Flower
Oriental Foxglove (Rehmannia Angulata), a distinctive and resilient perennial valued for its eye-catching, tubular foxglove-like flowers, adds a remarkable refinement to your landscape. This plant, which is native to China and is rarely seen in Western gardens, adds striking colour and texture to beds, borders, or cottage gardens with its towering spikes of rose-pink blossoms with golden-yellow throats. It grows well in full sun to moderate shade and well-drained soil, and it blooms from late spring to summer. Rehmannia is a safer alternative for pet-friendly gardens because it is not toxic like actual foxgloves. This strong grower has a spreading habit that gradually fills space attractively, and it is long-lasting and frost-hardy.
Growing Instructions:
From late winter to early spring (February to April), sow Oriental Foxglove (Rehmannia Angulata) seeds indoors. In late spring, after the danger of frost has passed, sow them outdoors. On the surface of moist, well-drained compost, scatter the tiny seeds and gently push them in; do not cover, since light promotes germination. Keep the temperature between 18 and 22°C; it takes 14 to 21 days for germination to occur. When seedlings are big enough to manage, move them outside into fertile, well-drained soil, 30 to 45 cm (12 to 18 inches) apart, and in a sunny or partially shaded spot. Mulch to hold onto moisture and keep weeds at bay, and keep the soil damp but not soggy. If sown early, plants will flower in their first year from late spring to summer, usually May to August. To prolong the blooming season, deadhead fading blossoms. Rehmannia is a hardy perennial that will come back year after year, growing stronger over time and even surviving light frost once it has taken root.
