30x Passion Bluecrown Seeds - Hardy Climber for Trellises & Fences - Flower

The Bluecrown Passion Flower (Passiflora caerulea), a gorgeous, quick-growing vine distinguished by its exotic, star-shaped blossoms and aggressive climbing habit, will add a touch of the tropics to your landscape. In warm areas, this tough perennial bears small, egg-shaped fruit after producing beautiful flowers with blue and white petals encircling a brilliant central crown. Perfect for growing on arches, pergolas, fences, or trellises, it draws pollinators like bees and butterflies and creates vertical interest. Once established, the vine can withstand frost and drought in mild climates and grows best in full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. From summer through early autumn, this climber provides a striking and durable floral display, making it ideal for both ornamental and wildlife-friendly gardens.

Growing instructions:

In early spring, 8–10 weeks prior to the latest frost date, Passion Bluecrown (Passiflora caerulea) should be sown indoors. To increase germination, soak the seeds overnight. Then, plant them on top of a seed compost that drains well and lightly dust them with vermiculite or fine grit. Warm temperatures of 21–24°C should be maintained, and the soil should be continuously moist but not soggy. Often requiring three to six weeks, germination can be irregular and delayed. Move seedlings outside into a sunny spot with well-drained soil as soon as they have several genuine leaves and the danger of frost has passed. Plants should be spaced 1.5–2 meters (5–6 feet) apart, and they should have strong climbing supports like a fence or trellis. In their first or second year, Passion Bluecrown vines will start to blossom, usually from midsummer to early autumn (July to September). The vibrant blue and white blooms will draw pollinators. Healthy growth and abundant flowering can be promoted by frequent watering and sporadic fertilisation using a balanced fertiliser.
