Fairy primrose, or Primula malacoides, is a lovely indoor plant that is valued for its fragrant, delicate blossoms that add cheer to the winter months. Growing instructions:

In the UK, Primula malacoides (Fairy Primrose Mix) is grown by sowing seeds indoors in a shallow tray filled with fine, wet seed compost from late summer to early fall (August to September). Since seeds require light to sprout, gently push them onto the surface without covering. Keep the compost damp but not soggy, and keep it at a cool temperature of about 15°C. Usually, germination takes 14–21 days. After a few genuine leaves appear on the seedlings, move them into separate pots and keep them out of direct sunlight in a cool, bright place. Indoor flowering takes place from late winter to early spring, often from January to March. Consistent moisture and well-drained soil are ideal for fairy primroses.
