220x Golden Columbine Seeds (Aquilegia chrysantha) – Rare Yellow Hybrid – Hardy
These Golden Columbine Seeds (Aquilegia chrysantha) are a gorgeous yellow hybrid that is prized for its long, graceful spurs and dazzling, sunshine-gold blooms. They will add a touch of elegance and rarity to your landscape. This resilient perennial, which is native to the southwestern United States, grows best in full sun to moderate shade and is tolerant of a wide range of soil types, particularly well-draining soil. Golden Columbine, which blooms from late spring to early summer, is a pollinator-friendly addition to flower beds, borders, or wildflower gardens because it draws hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Even when not in bloom, the plant's tiny clumps of lacy green foliage offer texture, and it usually grows to a height of 24 to 36 inches.
Growing instructions:
Golden Columbine (Aquilegia chrysantha) can be grown from seed by either planting straight outdoors in early spring or autumn, or by starting indoors 8–10 weeks prior to the last anticipated frost. Cold stratifying the seeds, which simulates natural winter conditions and enhances germination, involves putting them in a sealed plastic bag with a slightly moist paper towel and putting them in the refrigerator for three to four weeks. Because they require light to sprout, place the seeds on the top of moist, well-draining soil after stratification and gently press them in; do not cover them with earth. Make sure the soil is consistently moist and the temperature stays between 15 and 20°C. Typically, germination takes 21–30 days. When seedlings are big enough to manage and have genuine leaves, move them into the garden, leaving a 12- to 18-inch (30- to 45-cm) gap between each one. Select a location with well-drained, moderately fertile soil that receives full sun to light shade. Once grown, golden columbine can withstand dryness and needs little care. Allowing certain flowers to go to seed will help plants become more naturalised in the garden, and deadheading spent flowers will promote longer blooming. Being a resilient perennial, it will come back year after year, adding vibrant yellow hues and drawing pollinators like hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. Golden Columbine Seeds (Aquilegia chrysantha) flower from June through to October.
