200x Ipomopsis Rubra Presidio Standing Cypress Seeds - Striking Red Spires
Seeds of Ipomopsis rubra Presidio Standing Cypress will provide your garden with a burst of bright crimson. This native North American wildflower, which is well-known for its tall, thin spikes of eye-catching red blossoms, is ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens since it draws hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Presidio grows up to 1.2 meters tall and prefers full sun and soil that drains well. Once established, it can withstand drought. From early summer to autumn, this hardy annual or biennial flowers, adding striking vertical appeal to naturalised areas, wildflower meadows, and borders. Simple to cultivate from seed, it can be sown straight outdoors after the UK's last frost or indoors in the early spring.
Growing Instructions:
Sow seeds indoors from February to April or outdoors right after the last frost in April or May. Use seed trays filled with sandy compost that drains effectively for indoor sowing. Since the seeds need light to germinate, lightly cover them. Germination usually takes 14–21 days, so keep the temperature between 18 and 21°C. After the seedlings have genuine leaves, move them into separate pots and place them in a bright, protected area to continue growing. Because too rich soil can prevent flowering, harden off before planting outside in a sunny, well-drained spot with poor to ordinary soil. Tall, blazing red flower spikes that draw pollinators bloom from June to September.
