200x Black Pansy Viola Wittrockiana Seeds - Striking Biennial Flowers

A stunning biennial flower, the Black Pansy (Viola × wittrockiana) adds dramatic beauty to any garden or container with its deep, velvety black blossoms. These seeds provide sturdy, resilient plants that grow well in healthy, well-drained soil and in full sun to partial shade. Usually reaching a height of 6 to 8 inches, each plant forms a dense mat of lush green foliage with dramatic black petals that contrast sharply with lighter blossoms or greens. Black pansies are not only aesthetically pleasing but also draw pollinators, making them ideal for borders, window boxes, and mixed floral arrangements. They are a favourite among gardeners looking for refinement and charm since they are simple to raise from seed and offer enduring beauty from spring through early summer.

Growing Instructions:

Black Pansy (Viola × wittrockiana) seeds should be sown indoors between late January and March in seed trays filled with a light, well-draining seed compost. Plant seeds sparingly, cover them lightly, and keep the soil damp but not soggy. Trays should be placed in a greenhouse or a cool, light area (15–18°C). Germination usually takes 10–14 days. Transplant seedlings into separate pots after they have two genuine leaves, and let them harden outside in April or May. Plant 20–25 cm apart in full sun to partial shade in rich, well-drained soil. Continuous blooms are encouraged by routine watering and deadheading wasted flowers. Keep young plants safe from frost. These eye-catching biennials produce stunning black blossoms from late spring into summer when given the right care.
