150x Tomatillo Purple Physalis ixocarpa Seeds – Vibrant Purple Colourful Plant
Grow your own Tomatillo Purple (Physalis ixocarpa), a colourful and exotic species that is prized for its zesty fruit and eye-catching purple husks. This unusual Mexican ground cherry gives your landscape a decorative touch with its medium-sized, spherical fruits wrapped in papery purple lantern-like husks. A mainstay of traditional Mexican cooking, tomatillos are ideal for salsas, sauces, and fresh eating. Warm, sunny spots and well-drained soil are ideal growing conditions for these simple plants. Early in the spring, sow indoors, and after the final frost, move outdoors. From mid to late summer, take pleasure in a plentiful harvest that will infuse your home garden with vibrant colour and flavour.
Growing Instructions:
From late February to early April, sow Tomatillo Purple seeds indoors in seed trays with compost that drains properly. Keep the soil moist and warm (18–22°C) while planting seeds around 1 cm deep. Typically, germination takes 7–14 days. Move seedlings into separate pots and place them in a sunny, protected location after they have several genuine leaves. After the final frost, usually in late May or early June, harden off and plant outdoors. Full sun, well-drained soil, and frequent watering are ideal for tomatillos. Fruits mature 75–100 days after seeding, with flowering starting in mid- to late-summer. Harvest when the skin begin to separate and get dry.
