1500x Stinging Nettle Seeds – Urtica Dioica - Hardy Perennial Herb

Stinging nettle is a resilient perennial herb that has several ecological, culinary, and medical applications. Once grown, it requires little maintenance and returns year after year in a range of soil types and circumstances. This hardy plant, which is distinguished by its deep-green, serrated leaves and tiny, stinging hairs, can be gathered to make compost accelerators and natural fertilisers or used to make nutrient-rich beverages, soups, and tonics. Additionally, pollinators and beneficial insects, such as the caterpillars of many butterfly species, depend on Urtica dioica as a habitat and food supply. In early spring, start indoors or straight sow outdoors; mature plants usually grow 3 to 5 feet tall.

Growing instructions:

To enhance germination, cold-stratify the seeds for two to four weeks in the refrigerator before beginning to cultivate Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) from seed. In early spring, sow seeds indoors; after the risk of frost has gone, sow them directly outside. Because the seeds require sunshine to germinate, plant them only 1-2 mm below the soil's surface. Maintain a temperature of approximately 15–20°C and keep the soil continuously moist but not soggy for the best germination, which usually takes place in 10–21 days. Select a spot with rich, moist, well-draining soil that is slightly shaded to sunny. Plant seedlings 12 to 18 inches apart at their final growing location once they are a few inches tall and the weather is stable. Urtica Dioica flower from spring through to summer.
