1200x Wild Scarlet Pimpernel Seeds – Native British Wildflower - Natural Gardens
Wild Scarlet Pimpernel Seeds are a delightful native British wildflower that will add a splash of vibrant colour to your landscape. The Scarlet Pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis), which is well-known for its delicate, star-shaped crimson to orange blossoms, grows well in borders, meadows, poor soils, and wildflower areas. These low-growing annuals are perfect for wildlife gardens, rewilding initiatives, and naturalistic planting since they draw pollinators and promote biodiversity in the area. Blooming from late spring to early October, they thrive in full sun and well-drained soil and are simple to grow and care for. A stunning and eco-friendly option for any garden in the UK looking to promote native plants and enhance its natural beauty.
Growing instructions:
For earlier flowers the following year, sow Wild Scarlet Pimpernel seeds outdoors straight between March and May or in the autumn, between September and October. Pick a sunny, well-drained location. Since light promotes germination, lightly rake the soil and distribute the seeds thinly throughout the surface, pressing them down gently without covering. Until seedlings emerge, usually in 14–21 days, keep the area moist. If necessary, thin seedlings to make room for them to grow. Bright scarlet-orange blooms that draw pollinators are produced by this hardy annual flowering from May to September. Once established, it requires little care--neither feeding nor watering is necessary. It self-seeds easily for organic regrowth in subsequent seasons, making it perfect for borders, rockeries, or wildflower meadows.
