Known for its spectacular single flowers in rich colours of crimson and white, Sweet William ‘Holborn Glory’ (Dianthus barbatus) is a classic hardy biennial that will add brilliant colour and traditional charm to your garden. This variety is ideal for borders, cottage gardens, and cutting since it blooms in late spring to early summer in tidy, upright clusters. The bright blossoms are very appealing to bees and butterflies and have a little aroma. From May to July, sow seeds outdoors in full sun or light shade in well-drained soil. After overwintering, plants will flower the next year. Holborn Glory is a low-maintenance, easy-to-grow plant that adds nostalgic beauty and pollinator-friendly colour to any garden area.

Growing instructions:

From May to July, plant Sweet William Holborn Glory seeds outdoors in a seedbed or just next to the flowering spot. Sow sparingly in broad sun or light shade in well-prepared, damp but well-drained soil. After lightly covering the seeds with dirt, water them gently. Usually, germination takes 10–21 days. Thin or move seedlings to their final locations once they are big enough to manage. Plants that are biennials will produce leaves in their first year and bloom in the late spring or early summer (May–July) after that. prefers soil that is neutral to slightly alkaline, and deadheading unproductive blooms prolongs flowering. Sweet William is a low-maintenance, hardy plant that is perfect for borders or cut flower gardens. It also attracts butterflies and bees.
