Japanese Green Perilla shiso is a wonderful addition to your herb garden for giving your salads an exotic flair. It has lime-green, crinkled leaves and is also known as the Beefsteak plant or Chinese basil. The entire plant has a spicy aroma and is a lovely foliage plant. It is a native of Japan and, as such, is a component of Japanese cuisine. It is linked to mint and has a flavour that is similar to mint but warmer and spicier.
Growing Instructions:
From March to July, sow thinly, 1.5 cm deep, into carefully prepared, well-dug, healthy soil that has already been watered, right where they are to crop. Typically, seedlings emerge around 14–21 days. No thinning is needed, but during dry months, keep the plants well-watered. Every three weeks, regular sowings will guarantee a steady supply of Japanese Green Perilla Shiso throughout the year.
